End-User License Agreement
This End-User License Agreement ("Agreement") is between you and [Your legal name] ("we", "us"), and governs your use of the Cinebrowser desktop application ("Cinebrowser", the "App"). By installing or using Cinebrowser, you agree to these terms.
1. License grant
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Cinebrowser on the number of devices your plan allows. While Cinebrowser is in beta it is free, and you may install and use it on an unlimited number of your own devices during the beta period.
2. What you may not do
You agree not to:
- redistribute, resell, rent, lease, or sublicense Cinebrowser;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App beyond what applicable law expressly permits;
- remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices;
- circumvent, disable, or interfere with any license checks or activation mechanisms.
3. Ownership
Cinebrowser, its source code, design, and all related intellectual property remain the property of [Your legal name]. This Agreement grants you a license to use the App — no ownership or other rights transfer to you except the license expressly granted here.
4. On-device processing
Cinebrowser's AI features — including semantic search and face recognition — run entirely on your device. Your footage and the face data derived from it never leave your machine and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. This on-device design is a core promise of the product.
5. Third-party components
Cinebrowser includes third-party components that are governed by their own licenses:
- FFmpeg, used under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). A copy of the LGPL text ships with the App.
- RED's R3D SDK (© RED Digital Cinema), used under RED's own license terms.
Your use of these components is subject to the respective licenses, which take precedence over this Agreement for those components.
6. Updates
We may provide updates, bug fixes, and new versions of Cinebrowser from time to time. Unless an update comes with its own separate terms, it is covered by this Agreement. Cinebrowser is free while in beta; when paid plans become available, what each plan includes — and any update terms — will be set out at purchase.
7. Warranty disclaimer
Cinebrowser is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, footage, revenue, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of Cinebrowser. Nothing in this Agreement limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Termination
This license ends automatically if you breach any term of this Agreement. On termination, you must stop using Cinebrowser and remove all copies of the App from your devices. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — such as ownership, warranty disclaimer, and limitation of liability — continue to apply.
10. App-store note
If you obtained Cinebrowser through the Apple App Store or the Microsoft Store, that store's terms of service also apply to your use of the App, and in the event of a conflict those store terms govern for matters they cover. Where Cinebrowser is obtained through the Apple App Store, Apple is a third-party beneficiary of this Agreement and may enforce it against you.
