Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, installing, or using Cinebrowser, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. If you are using Cinebrowser on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for that organization.
2. The service
Cinebrowser is a desktop footage-review application for macOS and Windows, built for filmmakers. While in beta, Cinebrowser is currently free to use. It is a work in progress: features may change, be added, or be removed as the app evolves, and we may adjust or discontinue parts of the service over time.
3. Your account
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for any activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Cinebrowser, and at least 18 to purchase a paid license once paid plans are available. Please keep your email address accurate so we can reach you about your account and license.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app beyond what applicable law expressly permits;
- resell, sublicense, or redistribute Cinebrowser or any license key without permission;
- circumvent or tamper with licensing, activation, or security measures;
- use Cinebrowser to violate the law or infringe anyone else's rights.
5. Your content stays yours
Cinebrowser processes your footage entirely on your device. Its AI features — including semantic search and face recognition — run on your machine, and your footage and face data never leave it. We claim no ownership of, and no rights in, the material you review with Cinebrowser. We never receive it.
6. Licensing & payment
Cinebrowser is licensed, not sold. Your right to use the app is governed by the License Agreement. The beta is free. When paid plans become available, pricing, billing, and refunds will be covered by the Refund Policy, which offers a 14-day money-back guarantee on paid licenses.
7. Third-party software
Cinebrowser includes third-party components used under their respective licenses: FFmpeg (licensed under the LGPL) and RED's R3D SDK (© RED Digital Cinema). Your use of these components is subject to the terms of those licenses.
8. Disclaimers
Cinebrowser is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects, or that it will meet your particular requirements.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cinebrowser and its makers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, footage, or profits arising from your use of — or inability to use — the app.
10. Termination
You may stop using Cinebrowser and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including licensing restrictions, disclaimers, and the limitation of liability — will continue to apply.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Cinebrowser develops. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Your jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable law grants you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
